Miss Tatum grew up dancing in Calgary from a young age. She has trained in styles such as tap, jazz, classical ballet, lyrical, and musical theatre. She has successfully completed her ADAPT Intermediate 3 tap and jazz exams and her RAD Intermediate ballet exam. Miss Tatum has also spent time working for the Wild Rose Dance Arts Association which is a non-profit dance organization in Calgary. In 2015, Miss Tatum decided to retire her dance shoes… or so she thought!
Miss Tatum’s love for dance continued throughout her undergraduate degree at UBC Okanagan where she was president of the UBCO Urban Dance Club. Her time as president resulted in the UBCO Urban Dance Club becoming the largest club on campus. During this time, Miss Tatum completed her degree with a B.A. in Cultural Studies and a minor in Anthropology. After graduating from UBC Okanagan, Miss Tatum completed her Master’s degree in Sociology at the University of Lethbridge researching the impacts of parent leave on workers in large businesses in Alberta. She graduated with academic excellence this past July. Post secondary education is something that Miss Tatum holds very near and dear to her heart. During her post secondary journey, Miss Tatum was able to combine her love of academia and dance which brought her to Prestige upon her return from school.
Miss Tatum now lives in Calgary and is excited to bring her skills to the Prestige team. You can find Miss Tatum working behind the scenes very closely with the Leadership and Intensive teams to contribute to the continued growth of the Prestige Intensive program. Miss Tatum is excited to connect with the dancers and Prestige families this year to make season 20 the best season yet!
Let’s make it a great year!
