The key to creating an amazing, ever-expanding community is a love and passion for what you do, and Prestige Dance Academy is living proof.
Twenty-four years ago, Miss Amanda started Prestige Dance Academy with a dream to share her love of dance with Calgary. As she hung up the mirrors in her very first studio space in Glenbrook Plaza, Miss Amanda never could have guessed what that love of dance would cause Prestige to become in the year 2025.
Since opening her doors, she has expanded her space in Glenbrook Plaza, partnered with Miss Lisette, opened a new location in Auburn Bay, and expanded even further to the ITC location. Even through all the ups and downs that have come over the years—especially the challenges of 2020—the Prestige family has only grown. In fact, it has grown so rapidly, that even with three separate locations, we have frequently needed to rent additional spaces for extra rehearsals and dress rehearsals. Our intensive families have been travelling from one location to the next between rehearsals and between siblings in the programs as we are always looking for more space.
This is why we are ecstatic to announce that our Intensive Training Centre is expanding.
Only two doors down from our current ITC location on Fairmont Drive, at unit 6737, we are opening a new space to become our Senior Intensive Training Center. Our current ITC location will now serve as the Junior/Intermediate Intensive Training Center, meaning amazing benefits for the whole Prestige community.
The Senior ITC features larger and more expansive studios designed to support the continued growth and development of our elite athletes. It’s a huge step forward in providing top-tier training and opportunities for our dancers.
First off, because of the additional and larger rooms, we’ll be able to offer expanded class times to accommodate more training opportunities for our dancers. These new opportunities will be less divided across the city, allowing for a more convenient drop-off and pick-up schedules for the new season. This will also mean fewer rehearsals at external venues like Trico and Seton, ensuring a smoother, more focused experience for our dancers. On top of that, the new location provides the space to run stage and dress rehearsals in-house, making it easier to prepare for upcoming performances and events.
Furthermore, some dancers straddle both intermediate and senior classes, but the proximity of the two locations will make it much easier for them to move between classes and rehearsals seamlessly.
Last, but not least, with new rooms comes additional programming at Prestige facilitated by the same great team—plus a few exciting new faces!
As we continue to expand, we remain deeply committed to our core values:
Excellence in training and performance.
Passion for dance and the journey of every dancer.
Integrity in all our actions and relationships.
Innovation in our approach to both training and creative expression.
Community that fosters a supportive, inspiring, and collaborative environment for our dancers and their families.
We can’t wait to see how these changes will elevate our community, and we’re so grateful for your ongoing support as we continue to grow together. Our priority registration begins May 5, so be sure to keep an eye out for your recommended classes and all the new opportunities we have to offer during the 2025-2026 season.
Stay tuned for more updates—exciting times are ahead!
