Miss Jen is the Co-Director of the Intensive Dance Program at Prestige Dance Academy Inc. Miss Jen has an extensive dance background in classical ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical /contemporary, hip hop, and musical theatre. She has successfully completed various examinations up to and including her ADAPT Pre-Advanced Tap Exam, ADAPT Intermediate 3 Jazz Exam, as well as her RAD Advanced One Ballet Exam. She has competed and performed locally and internationally and has won many awards as a dancer and performer. She has now married her passion for dance with her love of working with children and has found her home at Prestige.
After graduating from the University of Calgary with a focus on teaching and connection with a degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies, she worked to expand her knowledge of dance and movement by becoming a certified Module 1&2 Acrobatic Arts instructor as well as a certified ADAPT tap and jazz instructor. She has also completed her ADA Foundations, Module 1, and Module 2 hand balancing certifications. In addition, Miss Jen sits on the board for the Wild Rose Dance Arts Association, a non-profit organization comprised of local dance teachers that work to give back to Calgary’s dance community.
While Miss Jen is passionate about all disciplines, her heart has always been with tap. She has travelled to Vancouver on several occasions to attend the Vancouver International Tap Festival where she has had the opportunity to work with artists and tap masters from around the world. She continues to expand on her tap knowledge through training courses with Tasha Lawson of Tri-Tone Productions.
Miss Jen is passionate about training and instilling a love of dance in the next generation of young performers. She is excited to help the Prestige students continue to grow and develop their artistry and is looking forward to the year ahead!
