Miss Josie Colborne

Dance Educator

At the age of 3 years old I was put in my first ballet class in Calgary and never looked back. I added jazz, tap, lyrical, hiphop, musical theatre, contemporary and pointe and became a full-time dancer, competing in many groups, trios, duets, and solos in Calgary and internationally. I love all styles of dance but my favourite would have to be jazz and lyrical. I have successfully completed my ADAPT Advanced Jazz exam, my ADAPT pre-advanced Tap exam as well as my RAD Advanced One ballet exam.

While in high school I was apart of Central Memorial High School’s Performing Visual Arts dance program. This program gave me the opportunity to train in many different dance styles and work with different choreographers. One of my favourite dance memories was being able to travel internationally with all my dance friends to Disneyland, Las Vegas, and Spain to perform!

In 2013 I graduated from Bow Valley College with my Education Assistant Certificate and have been working ever since with special needs children at a preschool, kindergarten called Pacekids Programs. While working full-time at Pacekids, I have continued to teach dance and obtain certifications throughout the years. I am an Acrobatic Arts Module 1 certified teacher as well as am completing my third and final year of ADAPT teacher training!

On top of that I love going to workshops and conventions to take classes and continue to grow and train as a teacher.
