Miss Kaya grew up in Okotoks and first started out as a soccer player. Miss Kaya’s interest in dance peaked when she would watch the next step show on repeat at home, that’s when she decided that she wanted to do what those dancers were doing. She was so fascinated by what the dancers could do, and it looked like so much fun.
Miss Kaya’s dance journey started when she was 11 years old. She tried an acro class and absolutely loved it so she joined a ballet class, a jazz class, and a hip hop class. When Miss Kaya was 12 years old, she moved to Calgary with her family and found Prestige Dance Academy. This is where she started training more seriously and started taking R.A.D ballet exams, Adapt jazz exams, and Acrobatic Arts exams.
Miss Kaya’s dream is to travel around the world while dancing on cruise ships, as a dancer on stage for singers, or in movies when she graduates. She hopes to continue her dance journey as long as she can, while also studying Marine Biology at university.
Miss Kaya is joining the Prestige faculty this year and is so excited to be part of the team this season.
